Asilo bianco
Bilingual Nursery and Preschool
Milano
Why are more and more families choosing asilo bianco?
Our Model
We believe that every child is born with innate abilities, the protagonist of their own development and capable of constructing meaning.
We draw inspiration from the Reggio Emilia Approach to nurture the ‘hundred languages’ of expression, transforming natural curiosity into the energy to learn. Here, learning is built together, combining emotions and knowledge in a journey of daily discovery.
Bilingualism
At Becoming schools, bilingualism is not just an educational choice: it is a core value. At Asilo Bianco it is part of everyday life: of relationships, routines and the very way we learn.
Italian and English coexist on a daily basis in every aspect of school life, from daily routines to play. We use the “one teacher, one language” approach: each class has a permanent Italian-speaking teacher and an English-speaking teacher. The children absorb both languages naturally and intuitively, developing an open and flexible mind.
Atelier
The Atelier is one of the iconic environments associated with the ‘100 languages’ approach to education.
It represents the creative heart of the school, a space for exploration where ideas take shape through creativity. In this environment, the children explore graphic design, modelling, light and digital media using tools that stimulate the imagination.
Rather than a specific space, it is an approach that permeates the whole school to nurture creativity and expand the possibilities for learning.
Outdoor Education
At Asilo Bianco, as in all Becoming Education schools, Outdoor Education is a way of experiencing school.
Nature becomes an extension of the classroom: a living space in which to develop independence, curiosity and awareness.
Through Urban Outdoor, we transform the neighbourhood, parks and markets into everyday opportunities for discovery and civic engagement.
Nature, experienced in every season in the large indoor garden or outdoors, sharpens children’s scientific curiosity and supports their physical and mental wellbeing. That is why we choose to encourage children to engage with the outdoor environment every day.
Teaching team
A dedicated team of passionate professionals works every day to create environments for learning and care, placing the relationship at the heart of everything they do. As experts in education and child development, our educators are knowledgeable about psychomotor development and monitor the children’s developmental stages using the Brazelton approach.
Our highly experienced educationalist works closely with the teaching staff and families at all times, ensuring ongoing supervision. She assesses the needs of each child, coordinates the planning process and strengthens the bond of trust between the school and families.
Emotional and Social Skills
We place nurturing relationships at the heart of everything we do, as the foundation of all learning. We support the children in recognising what they are feeling, in putting names to their emotions, and in resolving moments of conflict through conversation. We help them to understand others, to ask questions, to be patient, and to work together.
Every day, we create an environment where listening, connection and care come together, respecting each person’s pace and embracing everyone’s uniqueness.
Nutrition education
Lunchtime is a valuable educational experience, centred on conviviality, enjoyment and food culture. We offer seasonal and balanced menus, developed in collaboration with expert nutritionists and approved by the ATS to ensure high standards of quality and food safety. Through mealtimes, children develop independence by learning to use cutlery and set the table, whilst discovering the value of seasonal produce and reducing food waste. Family involvement is centred on the Taste Club, an initiative dedicated to strengthening the partnership between school and home on the subject of nutrition.
Teacher training
The quality of a school depends on the quality of its teachers. We believe that training teachers means ensuring, every day, the quality of the educational experience for children.
This is why, in Becoming Education schools, training is not a one-off event but an ongoing process that fosters competence, awareness and educational care.
The Becoming Academy is the exclusive centre dedicated to the training of all teaching staff within the Becoming Education group.
