Asilo Bianco welcomes children from 6 months to 6 years old, offering a bilingual path that includes the Nursery (affiliated with the Municipality of Milan) and the Pre-school.

percorso 0-6

Our approach is inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach, which values the “hundred languages” of expression and considers every child the protagonist of their own growth, capable of constructing meaning. This vision is integrated with the “Una scuola” Manifesto, promoting learning as a community experience, rooted in the territory and open to the world, with a strong focus on Outdoor Education and social-emotional development.

Educational model

Yes, Asilo Bianco is part of the Becoming Education network, an educational project for children aged 0–13. This membership allows the school to benefit from pedagogical research, shared tools, and continuous professional development through the Becoming Academy, while maintaining its local identity.

becoming education

The child is the active protagonist: a curious explorer capable of constructing meaning through the “hundred languages” (drawing, movement, speech, play). The goal is to allow each child to realize their potential within a welcoming community.

Bilingualism

Yes, bilingualism is part of daily life. Italian and English coexist naturally in relationships, routines, and play starting from the nursery.

We use the “one teacher, one language” method: each teacher speaks exclusively in their mother tongue. Alongside Italian-speaking teachers, there are English Teachers who speak exclusively in English, ensuring daily and spontaneous exposure.

  • Nursery: Full Time 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Part Time (6-11 months only) 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM; After-school until 6:00 PM.
  • Pre-school: Full Time 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM; Pre-school from 8:00 AM; After-school until 6:00 PM.

The day follows a reassuring rhythm. At the Nursery, it is marked by the welcome, play, snacks, lunch, and personalized rest. At Pre-school, it begins with the morning meeting (assembly), a moment of dialogue where “the I meets the We” to organize the day, followed by research projects, exploration, and workshops.

Yes, we have an internal kitchen. The menus are seasonal, balanced, designed with expert nutritionists, and approved by the ATS.
Great attention is paid to food intolerances. For the youngest children, the menu is shared between the family, the nursery, and the pediatrician to ensure new foods are introduced gradually.
Yes, Outdoor Education is a core value and a way of experiencing Asilo Bianco every day. We use the large garden, parks, and the local area (Urban Outdoor) daily in all seasons.

Settling in and Relationship with Families

  • At the Nursery: We adopt the Participatory Settling-in It usually involves three days in the facility with the active presence of a parent; the subsequent timing is flexible and tailored to the child’s readiness.
  • At the Pre-school: Children are welcomed by encouraging their autonomy from the first day. Parents participate in preparatory moments and are invited into the section for part of the morning on the first day.

Communication is daily and based on trust and collaboration.

We use Kindertap, the app we use to update you every day on meals, rest, experiences, and useful information. We also practice visible learning: through photos, videos, and diaries, we narrate the children’s growth processes.

Additionally, our educationalist constantly supports the team and families to strengthen the educational partnership.

Every child has the right to learn according to their own characteristics. Our educators and teachers are trained in managing IEPs/PDPs (PEI/PDP) and collaborate with specialists to ensure attention to the uniqueness and individual pace of each child.
